Maintaining Excellence At Wensleydale School

I spent an enjoyable morning at Wensleydale School and Sixth Form, a seconday school in Leyburn. After a fun school tour I discussed a range of topics with a very challenging group of students!  

Fantastic Foxglove Covert

I enjoyed a delightful visit to Foxglove Covert today. It is a only local nature reserve on Ministry of Defence land, at Catterick Garrison.

Quorn: Global Business in Stokesley

Stokesley is home to a leading and fast growing global food business, Quorn, which is one of the largest employers in the constituency. I spent time with the CEO to understand what companies like this need to keep thriving.

Storehouse Food Bank

I visited the Storehouse food bank in Richmond. This is food bank operating on Thursday's and run by the Influence Church. 

Supporting Homeless Veterans

I spent a morning speaking with management and veterans at The Beacon. This is a housing project designed to house homeless or at-risk single Veterans and Service Leavers. It also provides support to facilitate their move-on into permanent housign in the area of their choice. 

Tenant Farming

I met with the Chairman of the Tenant Farmers Association to better understand the particular needs of Tenant Farmers, an important part of our farming industry.

Progress on Better Mobile Coverage

A priority for me is improving local connectivity. Today's announcement by the Government means better phone coverage for many. 

A Christmas Disco And Karaoke At Yatton House

I paid a fun visit to Yatton House, a centre for adults with learning disabilities. It was their Christmas Lunch today so I managed to indulge in a bit of festive disco and karaoke before they all headed out to feast!
