Everywhere I go, people are worried about the prospect of the SNP being part of a Westminster government. What will that mean for England? For me, we must have some measure of English votes for English Laws – simply put, only English MPs should be able to have a say on matters that affect only England. That's what happens on Scottish matters and it should be no different for us here in England.
Village Halls in Great Ayton, Bainbridge, Croft, Appleton Wiske, and Osmotherly. One gentleman came with an A4 pad full of questions!
This is one of the largest constituencies in England and you really feel it when you are out criss-crossing it all day! 80,000 electors, 42,000 odd houses and almost 2 hours from end to end. By the end of the campaign I am sure I will have walked a few marathons at least!
We keep at it over the weekend. I attended Nepalese New Year with the Gurkha community in Catterick. A great evening with good food, entertainment and company. On Sunday a wet and cold Bedale Point to Point. Good to round off the week with some canvassing and a drink at the Richmond Conservative Club.
