Close to 60 farmers came to my Farmers' Forum at Northallerton Auction Mart to discuss the issues facing the industry and my priotities if I was elected as MP.
In spite of the snow, I was delighted to have such a packed room with a good spread of farming represented. After spending a lot of time at auction marts and visiting individual farms, I was keen to get al larger group of farmers together to discuss some of the issues I have come across.
We discussed a range of challenges facing the industry from low milk prices to EU regulation to broadband. I learnt a lot from all the engaged contributors and came away with a good sense of what my priorities should be. All in al, a very produtive evening.
