Bedale's revived Scout and Guide Community Festival has been acclaimed a great success by Rishi Sunak.
The festival wasn't held in 2017 because of lack of support but returned this year and attracted hundreds of people to the grounds of Bedale Hall.
The parade of organisations through the town at the start of the event was judged by Mr Sunak, local Cllr John Noone and Wing Commander Morgan. This year's theme was the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.
Mr Sunak said: "It was a return visit for me and I was delighted the event was revived and has been such a success in raising money for Bedale Scouts and Guides."
A total of £3,700 was raised from the event with £1,500 of that going towards the scout and guide group's fundraising appeal for a new storage facility at its headquarters.
Mr Sunak said he his fellow judges had found the judging of the parade very difficult. The results were: 1 Bedale Scouts (Battle of Britain); 2 Bedale Brownies (Women's Auxilliary Air Force); 3 Bedale Beavers (Dambusters).
