Another great meeting with local residents, this time in the village hall in Scruton. We had a packed room and a good range of different people, from retired couples to parents with young families, and businessmen, nurses and farmers.
One of my favourite things about the constituency is the strength of the local communities. My experience today highlighted that. People came together because they care a great deal about their local area. The Scruton village website documents what a vibrant community the parish has, with people pitching in together and coming together regularly.
We covered a range of topics including: the options for expanding the UK’s airport capacity, ensuring education standards keep improving, how best to fund higher education, local cricket (a personal favourite!), and maintaining good GP surgeries.
