A GROWING business in North Yorkshire with a global reach has opened a new extension.
Professional Information, of Aske, Richmond, started as two-employee business but now employs 145 at the rural business hub created by the Zetland Estates. Another 70 employees are home-based.
The extension, which was opened this week by Rishi, is required to support the continued growth of the business, which provides medical information to healthcare professionals and the public on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry.
The business was founded by Keith and Rachel Lilley in Berkshire but they moved to Richmond fifteen years ago to take space in Aske Stables, the commercial offices development established on the Aske Estate.
The 5,500 sq ft extension, built by Randall Orchard Construction, of Richmond, is called Lilley House after the founders.
Rishi said he was delighted to be invited to launch the next stage in the company’s growth. “This is a high quality, global business with its roots firmly here in Richmond.
“This is a great Yorkshire success story. The group has over 200 employees providing world-class pharmaceutical and biotechnical expertise.
“They have bases in England, America and Australia with their employees speaking over 30 different languages.
And here near Richmond, high quality professionals do business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”
Professional Information now operates as PI ARM, part of the US ProPharma Group. It operates in 29 different languages and has customers in every country in the world.
Lord Ronaldshay, of Zetland Estates, said: “We are delighted that Professional Information came to us to help them with their need to expand.
“The growth of this business proves that there are rural employment and business opportunities and we have been happy to help PI to expand.”
