Campaigners put their best foot forward to raise awareness of the impact of dementia and raise money while doing so.
Fifty-seven people – including Richmond MP Rishi Sunak - took part in the second Northallerton Memory Walk which was one of many held around the country to benefit the Alzheimer's Society.
The Northallerton event – a 10k and a 2.5k walk – was organised by Beryl Larder whose husband suffers from the disease.
She said: "We had a brilliant turnout. Thankfully, the weather was on our side and we had so much support from our volunteers and the public who gave generously. We were very grateful that Rishi was able to find the time to join us."
Mrs Larder said the proceeds were still being calculated but she was confident they would exceed the £2,500 raised at the inaugural event in 2016.
Mr Sunak said: "Beryl has done a wonderful job in launching this event a year ago and with her band of helpers has held another successful event in 2017. There are an estimated 1,500 people living with dementia in Hambleton and that number will grow so anything that can be done raise awareness of this crippling and, at times, distressing condition should be appluded and supported."
Last Sunday's walks started from the Golden Lion Hotel which supported the event and provided a buffet lunch for the walkers. Harrogate Spring Water donated bottled water for all who took part.
