Rishi joined the start of Christmas celebrations in Bedale.
The MP called in to the annual Bedale Christmas Festival held in and around Bedale Hall.
He visited many of the 30-plus festive gift stalls in the hall and adjacent marquee where the ukelele band from Crakehall Primary School entertained the crowds.
There were also musical contributions from Bedale Primary School and the Yorkshire Voices rock choir.
The Bedale Banquet was held on the NorthEnd cobbles outside the hall serving street food and an array of local produce.
Rishi said: “I attended the event last year and once again this was a great way to get the festive celebrations underway. So many people attended and the atmosphere was wonderful with local people and visitors enjoying everything that was on offer.”
Sally Williams, who organised the event on behalf of the Bedale and Villages Community Forum, said Mr Sunak’s attendance was a boost for all involved.
She said: “It was great to once more have our MP and Prime Minister’s support for the event which brings the community together and promotes our local businesses.”
Activities organised as part of the Festival included poetry and Christmas decoration competitions for children, a Festive Town Trail and wordsearch with a Christmas hamper as the prize for the winning entry.
