UP and coming North Yorkshire racehorse trainer Gemma Tutty has impressed Rishi.
Rishi visited her yard and gallops on the North York Moors above Osmotherley, near Northallerton, to see some of the 26 horses in training there being put through their paces.
Ms Tutty has a growing reputation after 17 winners on the flat so far this season, including Blue Storm’s victory in a three-year-old Dash at Epsom on Derby Day.
A former jockey with 74 winners to her name, she took up training two years ago when her mother, Karen, decided to relinquish her training licence.
Facilities at Trenholme House Farm include private gallops, stabling in two well-ventilated barns, a horse walker and lunge pit.
During his visit, Rishi met Gemma’s mother, her father Nigel, a former point to point jockey, and her partner Einer Eismark, a bloodstock agent.
Rishi said: “Trenholme House is a very impressive operation and it is great to see a young trainer doing so well so early in her career. I look forward to hearing about many more winners in the future.”
Ms Tutty said: “It was a thrill to show Rishi what we do here and for him to meet the team and to see some of our horse in action. We have had a great season so far and this was definitely one of the highlights for us.”
