I stopped in for some tea and delicious cake at Berry’s Farm Shop and Cafe, located in Swinithwaite.
It is an excellent establishment which began as an outlet for home grown meat and game, but has since expanded to sell a wide selection of yummy North Yorkshire produce including fruit, veg, jams, chutneys, cheeses and more.
Berry’s just won a fantastic local award. The Flavours of Herriot Country Awards are a celebration of food and drink producers in the Richmondshire and Hambleton districts of North Yorkshire. Berry’s won Best Farm/Village Shop! Congratulations to owners Adrian and Bridget Thornton-Berry, manager Benita and all the team at Berry’s.
The list of Awards Winners demonstrate the tremendous quality of our independent food producers. From The Little Chocolate Shop in Leyburn, to farm shops like Berry’s and wonderful restaurants like the Black Bull in Moulton, food based businesses are a key part of our local economy and identity and must be supported.
