I had a great evening at Northallerton’s Bonfire Night and Fireworks display. It was a good opportunity to speak to a lot of people from the local community and enjoy a night out together.
While I was keeping warm (and luckily it stayed dry) I met the local Police Sergeant and PCSO. Police Community Support Officers are a valuable part of the local policing team - they are visible on the streets, known to the local community and know the local troublemakers! We spoke about the importance of having a good range of activities for young people so they can remain safe and happily occupied.
After a stomach-churning fairground ride and the end of the fireworks I headed over to the nearby Oddfellows Arms for a drink. It was completely packed and the good cheer further improved by excellent hog roast sandwich on sale right outside from local butchers Thompson’s.
